There have been seven consecutive months in which the two-wheel market has decreased.

During the month of November, 4,059 motorcycles were sold in Chile, which represents a 43% drop compared to the same month in 2021.

This is the seventh consecutive month in which the two-wheel market has contracted, denoting a sharp slowdown in a sector that, thanks to the pandemic, experienced the best months in history, and which in 2021 registered the highest sales since it began It has a record: 64,571 units.

The accumulated is still good, indicates in the National Association of Motorcycle Importers. In the first 11 months of the year, 50,316 units have been sold, which means a contraction of 12.6% compared to the same period in 2021.

"Beyond the contraction, 2022 continues to be one of the best years for motorcycle sales at the national level, and one month after closing the year, it is the second best performance in the last 10 years," indicates the union body.

 

 

In the breakdown of the January-November period, 45,373 units correspond to urban motorcycles, while 2,973 are so-called competition motorcycles and 1,970 all-terrain quadricycles (ATV+UTV).

Along these lines, the smallest motorcycles belonging to the urban segment, with less than 124 cc, registered a positive variation with respect to the period January - November 2021, since 4,873 of these motorcycles have been sold so far this year. , versus the 2,496 of the previous period. This represents an increase of 95%.

Regarding the origin of the imported units, ANIM indicates that 59.4% come from China, 28.5% from India, 2.2% from Thailand and 2.1% from Japan, among other origins.
