FNX Magokiler
One of Citroën's next launches in the region will feature the new C3 Mercosur/India SUV. We are talking about one of the members of the C-Cubed Project, so the brand will unveil three models in this part of the world, between this year and 2024, the first being the aforementioned hatchback. Although information about the brand new SUV has been circulating for a few months, in the last few hours it was a Brazilian designer who imagined its possible appearance. Let's see how I think it will be, and then delve into everything that is known about the model. New Citroën SUV: Will it look like this? The designer Joao Kleber Amaral made a series of renders for the Auto Esporte media with what he hopes will be the appearance of the future Citroën SUV. In general terms, the design uses the C5 Aircross, although in the details it recovers aspects of the new C3, a model with which it will share a platform. For example, the front presents the unfolded light group, imitating what is seen in the hatchback, but within a more robust front assembly, as imposed by the fashion of SUVs. It is in the side view where the resemblance to the C5 Aircross is most noticeable, taking into account the higher height of the front, the shape of the window-pillar assembly and the longer rear overhang. In addition, the rear part is more square than that of the C3, a model from which the designer also took several of his design lines, both for the sides and for the rear sector of the SUV. New Citroën SUV: what is known? Main member of the CC24 Project, the new Citroën SUV would be made on the CMP platform, the same as the new C3, so, in addition to part of its aesthetics, it would have its electrical architecture and mechanical elements. Of course: its wheelbase would be greater (it would go from 2,540 mm to 2,620 mm), to provide a greater interior space and thus accommodate seven occupants. In terms of motor, the SUV would have two options, a 1.6 VTi already known with 114 Hp and 5MT or 6AT box options, plus a FIAT alternative, the T200, a one-liter turbo three-cylinder with 120 Hp and 200 Nm associated to a CVT box. As for the name, and following what Citroën has done lately, the brand new model is expected to be called C3 Aircross. It seems that indoors it is already defined, but the brand still did not want to make it official. New Citroën SUV: Launch The future Citroën SUV will be produced in Brazil, more precisely at the Porto Real plant, as well as in India. Regarding its launch, it is expected to happen both in the neighboring country and in Asia during the first half of 2023. Chile has already been denied a passport to the C3, so we do not know if it is in the plans to bring more of these regional models to our market. https://noticias.autocosmos.cl/2022/12/16/asi-podria-verse-el-futuro-citroen-c3-suv-de-7-asientos
