With this update we will not only see new characters and a redesign of the map, but it comes with Unreal Engine 5.1 technology to offer us all the features of this new version of the best-known Battle Royale game. In this version 5.1 of Unreal Engine we find a visual improvement and with more detail thanks to Nanite, Lumen, Virtual Shadow Maps and Superresolution. Thanks to Nanite, architectural elements are generated from millions of polygons. So to create a building, it is rendered in real time as is each individual element such as a stone or plank of wood. Landscapes also use this technique, a single blade of grass is rendered from a multitude of polygons for higher quality. Lumen offers ray tracing effects in real time and with 60 FPS. These effects will also be seen when the characters react with light, adopting a shape and color as in real life. The shadows of the elements have also been improved thanks to the Virtual Shadow Maps, now a small brick will have its own shadow and the one generated by the characters. In the game will be much more precise, including the elements they have at that moment. Lastly, Temporal Super Resolution improves antialiasing for better graphics quality even at high FPS. At the moment the Epic Games team has disabled DLSS in the game, they are testing that all the new features introduced work with DLSS and if everything works correctly it will be enabled later.
