Despite the loudspeaker call, the driver of an official vehicle did not get to take the minibus out of the mall sector. In the end, staff had to even cut branches from a tree.

If there is something that was there yesterday at about 5:00 p.m. on the front of the temple of the Immaculate Virgin of Lo Vásquez, it was expectation. After two years of absence -due to covid restrictions-, the image of the Virgin would leave her temple to tour the sanctuary, and thus receive the affection of the hundreds of people who traditionally await this transit.

Everything was normal until around 4:30 p.m., when the announcer's voice began to ask, please, the presence of the driver of a minibus that was in the area of the mall and that would not allow the image of the Virgin to pass through.

Over and over again the announcer made the call, but the driver of the Hyundai JKDH52 simply did not appear.

 

 

The strangest thing about the situation is that the vehicle was in a restricted area, so it was part of the transport of the organization of the event.
Already at 5:00 p.m. -the time scheduled for the start of the procession- there was little hope that anything would change, so the personnel in charge of logistics had to take action on the matter. Although there was a side path that could have been a solution, there was a rope at the top that prevented the passage - through that place - of the virgin, who goes in height on a motorized vehicle.
With no possibility of altering the route, the only option left was to adapt the spaces. Thus, volunteers had to remove the security bars that were in place to create more space on the track and another quickly cut some tree branches in the upper sector, thus ensuring the passage of the virgin.
