In the USA all Stellantis dealers must have fast electric columns

To boost electric vehicle sales in the USA, Stellantis is proposing that all retailers be equipped with rapid charging stations inside or nearby. As Ford

and GM have already done he revolution within the Stellantis group and its 14 brands is proceeding at a fast pace: the latest news comes from the USA but it relates quite well to how much the House's relationship with its numerous points of sale will change. We have already told how the classic dealership should transform itself from an "independent" company based on sales to something profoundly different. All existing contracts will expire in June 2023, to then be transformed, as far as dealers are concerned, into delivery managers and service providers, while actual sales will report to a central entity. All with the aim of rationalizing costs, reducing the financial exposure of dealerships and offering better customer service. The plan initially takes off in small countries such as Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, but this formula will become universal and other signals are also on the way from across the ocean: without indicating the extent of the investments, the rule for overseas dealers it will be " Preparing for electric cars " at most. The first strategic alliance is with Future Energy, a planning and training company specializing in the sale of electric cars. All in view of a plan to launch 25 EV models in the USA by 2030. The first thing to do, according to Stellantis, is to have fast columns for all points of contact with customers by the first months of 2024 . The first models arriving in the USA for the group are the Jeep Avenger and soon also the electric 500, followed by the plug-in hybrid Alfa Romeo Tonale and its twin Dodge Hornet. Followed by the mighty Jeep Recon and the electric Wagoneer, who is still looking for a first name. Given the very busy launch programs for electrified cars also in the European market, it is probable that the same requirement will also be proposed (and made in practice mandatory) in the Old Continent as well, with investments for "old" dealers that could reach 1 million euros or less. Ford made the same request to its dealers in the USA.
