Rabat - A video showing Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani cheering for Morocco’s national team at the Al Thumama Stadium on Sunday has gone viral . The Emir was seen clapping as the game came to a close, in celebration of the Atlas Lions’ victory. Former Qatari Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani was also seen at Morocco’s game against Croatia on Wednesday, which ended in a goalless draw. Videos shared online showed the former Emir waving the Moroccan flag from the stands while surrounded by cheering fans. Following the game, Morocco’s head coach Walid Regragui called on fans to continue supporting the team and emphasized that his players will have to continue showing a strong performance against Canada to make it through the group stage. Morocco will play Canada on December 1, and will be looking for a win to seal its place in the tournament’s knockout stages, a feat which has not been achieved since 1986. © Morocco World News.
