FazzNoth
Detective Michael Lollo of the NYPD has spent much of his life responding to emergencies. But he never expected his heroics would include donating a kidney. However, after noticing a billboard ad about organ donation in Times Square and reading a newspaper article on the subject, his interest was piqued. Eventually, after two attempts to donate a kidney fell through, he was linked with Ruth Tisak, the 59-year-old wife of a Marine veteran. Though the recipient and donor initially remain anonymous in transplants, the strangers bonded through letters. But with the surgeries a success, they were finally able to meet. And later, their friendship became a family affair when Michael and his family met Ruth and her relatives to share Thanksgiving dinner.
