Toulouse Airport’s Winter Schedule Includes Seven Moroccan Destinations

Rabat - Toulouse-Blagnac airport in southern France this week revealed its winter program for 2022, offering direct flights to seven Moroccan cities.

The winter program includes 60 destinations including 40 international ones with Rabat, Birmingham, and Krakow being the recent additions to Ryanair’s schedule.

The Irish low-cost carrier currently operates most direct flights between France’s Toulouse and the Moroccan cities of Agadir, Tanger, Oujda, Fez, Marrakech, and Rabat. The flights are all operating bi-weekly, except for trips to Marrakech where Ryanair operates four flights per week.

Ryanair is not the only low-cost carrier connecting Toulouse to Morocco. There are similar direct flights between the French city and the Moroccan cities of Fez and Casablanca organized by Air Arabia Maroc twice per week. EasyJet also runs flights to  Marrakech, offering up to six flights per week.

In addition to low-budget airlines, Morocco’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc has a share in the Casablanca-Toulouse market as it offers between four to six direct flights per week.

The high frequency of flights between Morocco and Toulouse airport supports the travel of mostly French and European businessmen and tourist clientele that are interested in visiting the North African country.

Meanwhile, Moroccan tourists, businessmen, and diplomats struggle to obtain a Schengen visa to enter French territories.

Chairman of the Management Board at Toulouse-Blagnac airport Philippe Crebassa welcomed the new winter program, adding that it “will allow business passengers to easily travel to France, Europe and beyond, but also allow everyone to find their loved ones or spend the holidays in other horizons.”

Despite the recent setback of Morocco’s tourism sector due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the country continues to be a po[CENSORED]r tourist spot for French tourists, with Marrakech being the most searched holiday destination in France this summer.
