-π£πππ
According to Ideam forecasts, the second rainy season in Colombia has been recorded with greater intensity, compared to previous years, due to the La NiΓ±a phenomenon, which would last until February of next year. Between January and until November 8 of this year, the rains left 765 municipalities affected, 204 dead, 281 injured and 37 people missing. The National Unit for Risk Management (UNGRD) reports that 5,840 homes have been destroyed and 147,562 families have been affected. The most recent event occurred in Barranquilla, where several landslides left around 500 families affected in the Nueva Colombia neighborhood, in the southwest. The disaster in this area is evident: destroyed houses, people trying to rescue some belongings from the rubble, women and children out in the open waiting for help, and faces of desolation and sadness. Among the disappeared are a woman and her seven-year-old daughter, of Venezuelan nationality, who lived in a cabin on one of the gabions located in the Pescaito sector, on the right bank of this flow, an area declared high risk due to the proximity of the tributary. The sector affected by the rains is located in the upper part of the neighborhood. It is a broken terrain, considered as a risk area for landslides and water runoff, especially when it rains. βWe want the mayor to come and address the problem. We need tents so that people are not out in the open,β added Molina, who assures that they have not received attention from the District despite the fact that the rains have affected a large sector of the neighborhood. https://www.eltiempo.com/colombia/otras-ciudades/en-vivo-lluvias-en-colombia-panorama-de-segunda-temporada-de-invierno-716619
