President Gustavo Petro traveled this Sunday to the island of San Andrés to verify first-hand the conditions in that island territory after the passage of Hurricane Julia, on Saturday night. His arrival on the island occurred around 1 pm this Sunday.

After verifying the conditions for landing and weather conditions by the authorities, the president decided to move. The hurricane left a lot of material damage.

In addition to the president, the ministers of Health, Carolina Corcho; Housing, Catalina Velasco, and Environment, Susana Muhamad, as well as the director of the Risk Management Unit, Javier Pava, among other officials.

Since Saturday, the head of state had announced that as soon as conditions permitted he would travel to the island territory to face the situation left by the passage of 'Julia'.
