Amaterasu イタチ
The Division Resurgence is a new mobile game based in the universe of The Division coming soon to iOS and Android devices. Like its console and PC counterparts, it will be a co-op third-person-shooter RPG with a separate story that will be canonical to the larger universe. Alongside the new story, the mobile game also features different classes, new gear and weapons, and new characters. Resurgence takes place in New York City and according to the press release will offer "a unique perspective on key story events that have taken place in The Division and The Division 2" with players taking on the role of first-wave agents. The original Division takes place in Manhattan while the sequel takes place in Washington DC. Ubisoft is referring to the game as open-world and says players will be able to roam freely around the urban environment and will feature both story missions and world activities for cooperative agents to complete. Ubisoft says the game can also be played alone. Similar to the console and PC games, players will be able to customize and upgrade their Division agent. You will also be able to unlock specializations with unique signature weapons and gadgets that can be changed any time with the goal of letting players develop good cooperative synergies. Ubisoft does not yet have a release date for The Division Resurgence, but you can opt to participate in upcoming tests (the press release for the game poitedly does not call it a beta) for the game by visiting the official website. GameSpot gave the original game an 8/10 in its The Division review. In its The Division 2 review, GameSpot gave the sequel a 9/10. Email news@gamespot.com The Division has become one of Ubisoft's flagship franchises with its open-world exploration and explosive combat. During GameSpot Swipe, we spoke to Fabrice Navrez, executive producer on the franchise's mobile debut The Division Resurgence, about how the game will bring the same Division experience to your pocket. The Division Resurgence will tell two stories: It will open with a scene set before the events of the first game, but then transition to its main storyline, which sits between the first and second games on the timeline. Players will return to New York City--the setting for the first game--including iconic locales like Liberty Island and Times Square. "One of the objectives was to come back to the vibe of The Division One that was very strong and loved by the community," Navrez said in the interview. "It's always a great experience to get familiar things you wish to explore, seen through the lens of the game." The game recently completed its first closed alpha test, and Navrez says the most positive feedback received thus far has dealt with the "true MMO" aspects, including the ability to meet players out in the streets of New York as opposed to only in safe zones, resulting in what Navrez called "interesting encounters." The video also details two of the six classes available in the closed alpha: the Demolitionist, who carries a heavy gun that inflicts explosive area-of-effect damage, and the Bulwark, which is a "tank melee" class designed to draw enemy fire and deal massive damage up-close. The Division Resurgence will release on iOS and Android at launch, though a specific timeframe has not yet been announced. More information will be provided during the Ubisoft Forward presentation on September 10 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET. LINK
