Bamboozles Adventure World in Bishop Auckland has made a public plea to the parents visiting their barnyard attraction after an incident which saw children climbing into the animals pens. The youngsters were then caught chasing the animals and throwing balls at them.

The entertainment centre has said that this sort of behaviour "will not be tolerated" and that any people found to harm the animals in their care would be reported. They were shocked that some parents had even stood back and watched as their children climbed over the fences to chase the livestock.

In a public post on Facebook, the company said: "A door code is in use to ensure that children are accompanied by an adult when accessing the barnyard. However, despite our regular checks it helps when adults actually supervise their own children."

The adventure world is a po[CENSORED]r attraction for families to take their little ones, especilIaly during the summer holidays. The attractions boasts a small flock of animals including pigs, alpacas, goats and bunnies which can be enjoyed in the barnyard area.

Customers of the venue were outraged to hear that children had been letting themselves into the animals pens and that parents hadn't stopped them. One individual called the incident "absolutely disgraceful." Many others expressed concern for the flock, with one saying: "I hope the animals didn't get hurt."

CCTV is in operation at the attraction. Staff at Bamboozles Adventure World have said that these exploits won't be overlooked and have warned individuals who do try to harm the animals that they 'will be prosecuted.'

Some patrons have hit out at the parents who allowed their children to jump into the pens, throwing balls and chasing the live stock. One person said: "I would have named and shamed the useless parents and barred them. Imagine what happens in their own homes. Poor little animals, hope they are ok. Zero respect for anything."

The full facebook post reads: "Not Happy. Following today's incident of children climbing over the fences into the animals fields... throwing balls at them and chasing them...THIS WILL NOT BE TOLLERATED!!!

"And yes... parents stood back to watch. Any persons found to harm the animals will be prosecuted. CCTV is also in operation.
