-Artisan ツ Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 For 70 years, no cheetah has inhabited the territory of India. Fortunately, that is about to change. Cheetahs, also known as cheetahs or cheetahs, are believed to be the only carnivorous animals to have become extinct in India. Its disappearance is mainly due to hunting for its skin and the loss of its habitat in the Asian country. Bringing the cheetahs back On June 7, the environmental authorities of India announced that eight cheetahs will be transferred from Nambia with the purpose of reintroducing the species in Indian territory. The specimens will be received in a national park in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The movement coincides with the independence celebrations of the former British colony. 70 years away from India The history of this feline in Indian Territory is long. The earliest known human records of the animal date back to the 12th century. They are even mentioned in literary works such as Akbarnama, the official chronicles during Mughal Emperor Akbar's reign. According to the story, cheetahs were captured and later used for hunting. Centuries later, during British colonization, cheetahs faced a new danger: habitat loss. India's vast forests were replaced with tea, indigo, and coffee plantations. Monumental quantities of these three resources were produced in the plantations, and as the industry prospered, the animals lost more and more ground. Another havoc for the cheetahs that the British brought with them was hunting. The rewards for catching one of these felines were high and their fur was po[CENSORED]r for making accessories. This caused the inevitable: its disappearance from India in 1952, bringing with it havoc on its ecosystem. "THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE REINTRODUCTION PROJECT IS TO ESTABLISH A VIABLE PO[CENSORED]TION OF CHEETAH IN INDIA, AND ALLOW IT TO PERFORM ITS ROLE AS A PREDATOR AT THE TOP OF THE FOOD PYRAMID," EXPLAINED THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT IN A COMMUNICATION. https://www.ngenespanol.com/animales/guepardo-africano-reconquista-india/
