Draeno Posted July 13, 2022 Posted July 13, 2022 CORSAIR is one of the best known manufacturers in the world of hardware, and is well known for the quality of its products. In the field of power supplies, this is taken almost to the limit, since it is one of the few manufacturers that, sure of its proper functioning, provide them with a 10-year guarantee. Now CORSAIR has announced an update to its HXi family of power supplies, which are now fully digital and enhanced with several top-of-the-line details, including 80 Plus Platinum certification. It would be quite complicated to explain the difference between a digital and an analog source in a launch article like this one (for that we already did a complete article explaining why a digital source is better than an analog one), but you should know that it is a A fairly big step forward for this family to be updated to 100% digital, as it allows better control of voltages and better efficiency. CORSAIR HXi: the high end, higher still CORSAIR's HXi series of power supplies has always been considered high-end, and now it will be even more so with this new update. CORSAIR initially releases two PSU models from this family, the 1,500-watt HX1500i and 1,000-watt HX1000i, both fully modular and 80 Plus Platinum certified for efficiency. With this power, you can already imagine that they are ambitiously designed for today's modern high-end systems. In addition to this, these power supplies can be controlled and configured through iCUE, CORSAIR's unified software, allowing you to monitor all their values (including input and output power, as well as efficiency) and even configure the fan curve, which by the way comes from the factory with a semi-passive operation to guarantee the lowest possible sound level. Likewise, the software also allows changing the operating mode of the source in terms of OCP protection of one or more lanes. Thus, building on the legacy of CORSAIR's first digital source (the AXi family), these CORSAIR HXi offer the power, stability and efficiency that modern platforms require, as you know they are increasingly demanding in terms of power. Of course, these supplies have 105ºC Japanese capacitors and, as fully digital supplies, they have resonant LLC topology and DC-DC conversion, guaranteeing the best performance. 1 Quote
