FazzNoth Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 God of War Ragnarök has revealed its release date in a brand-new trailer. The sequel to the franchise's hugely po[CENSORED]r and highly acclaimed 2018 entry, which served as a retooling for the series into a more character and exploration-focused experience, is coming out on November 9. The short trailer doesn't feature any footage, just pure pre-rendered CGI, but it does show Kratos fighting some foes with the help of a more confident Atreus. It's not a whole lot to go on, but it's good to have confirmation that the game is coming out this year after toxic fans were harassing the developers over rumours of a delay. Pre-orders will go live on July 15, and as you'd expect, there are a multitude of different editions you can buy that come with different things, ranging from in-game equipment and looks for the characters, to physical items like pins, dice and weapon replicas. You can find out about all the different versions and see an unboxing video over on the PlayStation Blog, but we'll note here that if you go for the standard PS4 edition of the game, you'll need to pay to upgrade to the PS5 version, unlike the other editions. The story of God of War Ragnarök will focus on the titular cataclysmic event, which Kratos and Atreus set out to try and find a way to prevent. Meanwhile, Thor has been dispatched to try and stop them, while former Witch of the Woods Freya is out for revenge after Kratos killed her son Baldur in the last game. The fact that Atreus is actually meant to be Loki will also play a role in the plot, while the duo are set to encounter the Norse God of War, Týr. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/entertainment/news/god-of-war-ragnarök-confirms-release-date-with-new-trailer/ar-AAZo2li 2
