Porsche is the car brand with the most clubs in the world.

Shortly after its foundation, Porsche managed to bring together enthusiastic people of the brand, a situation that gave way to the foundation of the first Porsche Club, on May 26, 1952.

70 years after the birth of this club, Porsche has the record of more than 700 clubs in 86 countries around the world, with more than 240,000 members. This number of brand-specific associations is unmatched in the automotive industry, in shape or size.

Porsche Clubs: an international success story
In May 1952, just two years after the first delivery of a Porsche in Germany, customers came together to form what is now the Porsche Club Westfalen (its original name was Westfälischer Porsche Club Hohensyburg).

For its part, the first Porsche Club outside of Germany was created in Belgium in 1953, while the Porsche Club of America, which was born in 1955 in the United States, is today the largest (145,000 members).

Around the world, approximately five new clubs are created each year. These are autonomous, independent and registered associations, or recognized legal forms, organized jointly and voluntarily by their members.

Therefore, each club offers a unique program and range of services: from automotive trips and events, through social gatherings and technical conferences on vehicles and electric mobility, to pageants of elegance and multi-day Porsche rallies.

Club member vehicles range from classics to models from the current range. Even the electric Taycan is increasingly seen at such events. Classic clubs around the world are especially dedicated to the preservation and maintenance of historic Porsche models.

In the early years, the founder Ferry Porsche and Fritz Huschke von Hanstein, Director of Competition at the time, decided to bring the "Friends of Porsche" together. As those early groups grew out of the racing community, Huschke von Hanstein was his link to the company and was active in founding the first club.

In 1956, he and Ferry Porsche brought all European and American customers together for a rally. It was Porsche's first meeting in Merano, Italy, and the start of the European rallies. In the following years, about 600 vehicles regularly assembled there. Ferry Porsche continued to attend Porsche rallies in the United States well into his old age.

It is a tradition that Dr. Wolfgang Porsche and Hans-Peter Porsche have carried on to this day. In the meantime, the management of the clubs has been taken over by Porsche's Global Community Management team, as well as by the brand's importers and dealers.
