FNX Magokiler Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 (edited) Another coup of the Renautlution strategy is the presentation of the Scénic Vision, in the context of the ChangeNOW summit in Paris. The diamond brand is heading towards absolute decarbonization in Europe, at least from 2040 and the rest of the world in 2050, so many of its models will be reinvented with electrified proposals and also demonstrating ecological and sustainable solutions in their manufacture. But back to the Scénic, which was discontinued very recently. Nothing would presage that we would be talking about a new Scénic so soon, even as a prototype. We could perfectly say that the original Scénic was the "minivan" version of the Mégane, but as time went by, the model gained its own identity. For the same reason, if we make the parallel with the Mégane E-Tech, we will find a more quadriform format, but one that respects the new design language that Renault has presented in its latest cars: the "Nouvelle Vague". Renault describes the Scénic Vision as "the Renault family car of the future, 100% electric". The proposal says: "This car invites you to travel to another era, to a future in which technologies and innovations will be at the service of a world that is more sustainable and respectful of the environment and people.", something that we have practically heard from all car brands. "All our corporate commitments are not enough if we don't apply them to our vehicles. This is why I have asked the Renault teams to design the first concept car that fully embodies our new ESG strategy and its three pillars: environment, safety and inclusion. We have called it Scénic Vision. Scénic, after our iconic "car to live in", and Vision because it corresponds to people's new expectations." declares Luca de Meo, CEO of the Renault Group and the Renault brand. The three pillars of ESG (environment, safety and inclusion) are demonstrated in the Scénic Vision as follows: Resources and recirculation of materials 70% of the materials used in the vehicle are recycled and more than 95% of the vehicle is recyclable, including the battery. The vehicle floor has been made using plastic waste from other sources (milk bottles, plastic tubes, etc.). In the entire vehicle, 30% of the plastic is of biological origin. Vehicle accessories are made from recycled carbon from the aircraft industry. Closed circuits are used in strategic materials such as platinum, copper, aluminum and steel, as well as in the elements that make up battery chemistry. The tires come from a GNSPR member manufacturer committed to environmental responsibility and human rights. The use of leather is abandoned and replaced by 100% recycled polyester with low carbon emissions. The fuel cell tank is made of carbon fiber from recycled paper waste. Improve air quality An air filter located on the driver's door improves the air quality inside the vehicle by filtering the outside air. Outside: the black pigments in the paint come from the treatment of particles captured in the atmosphere; a paint without synthetic pigments, which contributes to improving air quality. Powertrain with the advantages of electromobility and hydrogen H2-Tech technology: a hybrid vehicle, both electric and hydrogen, equipped with a 16 kW fuel cell. The H2-Tech system is based on range extension technology, which allows a battery to be twice as light as before for the same range, thus contributing to decarbonisation beyond vehicle electrification. Although this solution is a vision for a passenger car, the Renault Group with Hyvia (joint venture with Plug Power) already offers H2 solutions for light commercial vehicles. The synchronous electric motor offers 160 kW (215 Hp) and is powered by a 40 kWh battery. Starting in 2030, when the network of hydrogen filling stations is dense enough, it will be possible to drive up to 800 km - or, for example, 770 km from Valparaiso to Copiapó - without having to stop to recharge the battery. It will only take a five-minute stop to fill the hydrogen tank. As a continuation of the partnerships already established, this vehicle has a carbon footprint that is 75% lower than that of an electric vehicle such as the 100% electric Mégane E-TECH. Aims for up to 60% decarbonization of batteries compared to an equivalent battery thanks to the use of closed loops and low-carbon ore sourcing, as well as the use of low-carbon energy to assemble and produce the battery. battery. Passenger care: safety and health An integrated camera system at the front of the vehicle expands the driver's field of vision by 24% by transmitting the immediate surroundings to a dashboard display. In this way, the windscreen is extended by 180° to offer complete and reassuring visibility, giving the illusion that the bonnet was transparent. A risk assessment interface helps anticipate stressful situations. Compensates for potential driver inattention and offers personalized advice to continuously improve driving habits. This interface also provides personalized health advice to the driver through the analysis of data collected by cameras and connected sensors placed in the cabin (heart rate, fatigue, etc.). inclusive space A facial recognition system opens the door and adjusts the vehicle's parameters according to the driver's profile. This system also offers the possibility of adapting driving conditions to a possible disability. Each seat is equipped with microphones and speakers to provide its own sound environment (radio, voice-assisted driving) while maintaining optimal communication on board. The transmission of the voice of the passengers and the driver, and if necessary the amplification of their voices, facilitates communication between the occupants of the vehicle, especially if there is a hearing-impaired user on board. The absence of pillars between the doors and the flat floor facilitates access for people with reduced mobility. The design of the Scénic Vision proposes, for the time being, two front seats and a rear armchair. A four-seater car can hardly be considered a family car, but let us remember that it is a prototype and will probably have more capacity: the original Scénic had five modular seats and even the original prototype offered a passenger seat that could turn around. As it is an ecological model, it will surely have more space to be able to have a more playful and functional configuration. The doors of the Scénic attract attention as they open "suicide" style, allowing easy access. The interior proposes an avant-garde look based on the aesthetics generated by recycled materials, together with small informative LCD screens, "smartwatch" style but located on the doors, steering wheel and console. Obviously this interior will not reach production and it would not be surprising if the console was taken from the Mégane E-Tech.The instrument panel is a long and thin panel that is at the bottom of the dashboard, whose position recalls the Peugeot "i-Cockpit" format (remember that Gilles Vidal, the former Peugeot design director, now fills the same role at Renault.) The exterior features intricately designed 21-inch wheels and illuminated badging. It is 4.49 meters long and has a 2.83-meter wheelbase. For reference, it weighs 1,700 kilos. Jean-Michel Jarré I am an absolute fan of Jean-Michel Jarre, so I am very happy that Renault has approached the electronic music legend to work together. Jean-Michel Jarre is one of the best ambassadors that any brand would like to have at the moment, since he is not only an artist, but also very involved in protecting the environment as a UNESCO ambassador since 1993 (in environment and education issues), is a visionary of the future and an inexhaustible engineer who has promoted technological development through his records and massive presentations. The collaboration with Jean-Michel Jarre began in the early days of the Scénic Vision project, specifically in the field of acoustics and signal processing. The artist joined the design team to define the concept's sonic signature, guided by a "less is more" approach with a single speaker in each door, complemented by a so-called "soundbubble" system of sound bubbles inside each headrest. https://noticias.autocosmos.cl/2022/05/19/y-al-tercer-dia-resucito-entre-los-muertos-renault-scenic-vision Edited May 19, 2022 by [Ty]M@g0k1l3r
