Inkriql
ORDOBA.- The TecX Group is a commitment of the Córdoba Chamber of Foreign Trade to boost the knowledge economy and promote its transversal impact in all sectors. The objective is, by 2030, for the sector to have 90,000 workers in the province and export US$1,000 million. Evoltis, Santex, PwC, Promedon, Vates, Mercado Libre and Globant are the founding companies. Miguel Zonnaras, president of the chamber, states that there are three key factors in the proposal: foreign trade, as a dynamic aspect of modern economies and as a solution to Argentine problems; the good public-private articulation of Córdoba and the defense of production and private activity. ads by There is a conviction of the importance of the knowledge economy and its modernizing effect. Those ideas were discussed at the Tecx Smmit 2021, organized by the chamber and Argecon. The president of this institution, Sebastián Mocorrea, assures that Argentina has to propose “tripling or quadrupling exports; Córdoba has that entrepreneurial sense and can make a difference.” Regarding the role of Córdoba in the global economy of the country, the president of Promedon -technology-based medical supplies-, Marcelo Olmedo points out that the fact that it can export US$ 1,000 million of services based on the knowledge economy is "really disruptive, it is the most powerful change that the province can have in its economy”. For comparison, he points out that figure is the sum of all “non-agricultural” exports from the district. “We have to learn to be prophets in our land and push through all the work we have been doing. Hopefully Córdoba is the locomotive where all the provinces and Argentina are aligned from behind - describes Néstor Nocetti, co-founder of Globant-. I am convinced that the knowledge economy can get us out of the situation in which we are in today”. From the Córdoba Innovar y Emprender Agency, Diego Casalli adds that they hope to have more and more entrepreneurs "with a technology base and promote the investment ecosystem". The agency supports accelerators and angel investor clubs. The shortage of human resources - a constant for the sector in recent years - was addressed by other panelists. The businessman Mario Barra, from Vates, reviews that this issue has been one of the axes in the last two decades: “The challenge now is not to run it so far behind. That is why the importance of how we train talents”. Nelson Dubosq, representative of Digital House, admits that there is "a lot to do", such as student loans. He says that in his company they have teachers who are part of the industry and they decided to pay them as if they were working "at IBM or Globant, otherwise, they don't dedicate those four hours to me." “From the State and the companies, it is necessary to convey that it is nice to work in the sector; today it is easier to get a client than employees”, he summed up. Walter Grahovac, Minister of Education of Córdoba, also participated, stressing that the path to creating a structural base is “slow because it has to be worked on from the initial level onwards, in the training of teachers”. He anticipates that in February, Córdoba will launch a program that includes English as part of Language and a Mathematics program that includes technologies and computational thinking. María Belén Mendé, rector of the Universidad Siglo 21, maintains that if there was no capacity to generate a sufficient critical mass of talent to attend to the growth of the knowledge economy, “we must change the game and not continue forcing the system in the same way ”. "We have not assumed the responsibility of thinking about the educational system with a strong incentive for technical training, which is what companies require today," she adds.
