The Japanese firm introduces subtle improvements in this superbike that celebrates its 30th anniversary with a special decoration

Since its market in 1992, the Fireblade has become Honda's sports bike par excellence, a model to compete in races for series-derived bikes such as the World Superbike Championship, where Honda competes with Spanish riders Xavier Vierge and Iker Lecuona, and the Isle of Man TT. In 2020 he made a leap with a completely new bike, available in two versions: the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and CRR1000RR-R SP Fireblade. And now it receives subtle improvements to optimize response at mid-range and a special decoration to commemorate this 30th anniversary in limited edition.

The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade is inspired by and adopts some of the technology from the RC213V-S, the street-legal MotoGP bike, to offer track performance that allows it to go toe-to-toe with its rivals in all competitions. For this 2022 they have sought to improve performance on the track by optimizing traction and acceleration in the middle of the curve. One of the solutions adopted refers to the secondary transmission to improve acceleration from gear to gear at mid-range. The intake air intake and Honda Selectable Torque Control (traction control) have also been revised.

Both the image and the aerodynamics are taken from the RC213V-S, including spoilers to take advantage of the force of the air and prevent the wheel from lifting when accelerating and give more stability when braking. It has a fully customizable five-inch TFT screen where the three driving modes are displayed to regulate power, engine braking, anti-wheelie control (prevents the front wheel from lifting when accelerating) and traction control. It also includes a Standstill Start Mode for racing. And as a detail it has Smart Key or keyless start.

The engine is the heart that brings the Fireblade to life. It is a state-of-the-art tetra-cylinder that delivers a whopping 217 hp for the 201 kilos of weight in running order. The suspension is based on a fully adjustable fork and rear shock absorber signed by specialist Showa, which also provides an electronic steering damper. The braking is signed by the Nissin brand with an adjustable ABS for use on the circuit.

Honda offers a whole series of original accessories to equip the Fireblade with the breakdown of carbon parts, the shift assistant, the smoked screen and the Alcantara seat, among others. The price of this hypersport starts from 25,450 euros. In addition, the Japanese firm has in the SP version the most equipped model for competition with Öhlins suspension and Brembo brakes at a price of 30,100 euros. And in this 2022 it has launched another version of the SP called 30th Anniversary with a special decoration inspired by the first CBR900RR of 1992 whose price is 30,600 euros.
