#Wittels-
The AMB 001 is the first motorcycle created by Aston Martin, a fact that made this vehicle an object of desire for the most staunch collectors of the British brand back in 2019. On that occasion it surprised us with a unique image, state-of-the-art technology level and power in abundance. However, it was only a prototype that the brand itself along with Brough Superior had to put a point. Now, three years later, the bike has been perfected to the last, achieving a higher level of finish without leaving any of its specifications behind. For this reason, the first 30 units have been delivered to their legitimate owners. AMB 001, 180 hp turbocharged but only for track use If something characterizes Aston Martin, it is the exclusivity that it manages to imprint on any of its creations. So with his first superbike it was not going to be less. Named AMB 001, it has been developed together with Brough Superior, another mythical brand in the world of two wheels that has 100 years of history. We met it for the first time at the EICMA in Milan back in 2019 in the form of a prototype. It would not be until 2020 when it enters the production phase with the intention of delivering the first units as soon as possible. However, the pandemic totally changed the planes, delaying the production and delivery of this beautiful motorcycle for a whole year. Now, in 2022, we can announce that its first units are reaching its customers. Aesthetically it has a radical image that is closely related to the aerospace sector, since it has been developed with the help of Mecano ID, using materials as resistant and light as carbon fiber, titanium or aluminum. Thanks to that, this impressive motorcycle has stopped the dry weight at an impressive 180 kilograms. But beyond its weight and its image, its engine stands out. This has a V2 and 997 cc block tuned by Brough Superior with which it is capable of developing 180 CV of power thanks to the use of a variable geometry turbo that blows through an intercooler. To transmit the power to the ground, it has a removable 6-speed gearbox, along with an APTC clutch and a chain final drive. As for its part of the cycle, a Hossack-type front suspension inspired by the BMW Duolever system but with fixed bars stands out. Of course, this motorcycle is so special that it can only be used on the circuit since it does not have the homologation to ride on the road. As we said in the introduction, both British firms intended to deliver the only 100 units manufactured by the end of 2020. However, the pandemic totally changed the planes, delaying their production for a whole year. However, after this long year of waiting, the first 30 customers will receive their motorcycle at the official Aston Martin dealers, having paid an amount as spectacular as the motorcycle, 108,000 euros.
