[Auto] New Citroën C3 these are the engines with what will come to Argentina

Citroën has just announced the start of production of the new C3, the B-segment hatchback that changes style to the (inevitable?) trend of adventurers with an SUV format. Now we know what range of engines it will have.

Curiously, it was not the brand that gave the details, or at least openly, since the users and followers themselves recognized one of the mechanical options by watching an official video released by Stellantis.

At the base of the range, the FIAT-sourced 1.0L 3-cylinder engine was expected to take the place of the 1.2 PureTech with the same number of pistons. The interesting thing is that the second impeller appears in the broadcast video, the same one that uses the range entry of the 208 produced in Argentina.

The difference would be due to the anti-pollution regulations in force in Brazil since 2022 (Proconve L7) with which the 1.0L complies. Fortunately, the 1.2L that comes to our country has 84 hp, about 10 extra horses.

Although in each country the new Citroën C3 will have a different engine at the entry of the range, the other versions will resort to the well-known 115 hp 1.6L 16V VTi like the one currently used by the 208.

We know that Stellantis, the mega automotive group that brings together PSA and FCA, is testing the new 120 hp 1.0L 3-cylinder Firefly in the lion hatch, but for now, it will reserve it only for the Pulse in our market.

Perhaps, the new C3 looks for a more massive public, that is to say that it will compete more for price than the 208 and for that reason the house of the double chevron will seek to keep the costs lower. Although it is not a state-of-the-art engine, the advantage is that it is a proven mechanic with good performance.
