It calls for review after revealing a drug trafficking network with the participation of deputies The office of deputy Vanesa Montero López has a wall similar to that of the

ancient European cathedrals.  There she receives us by squeezing our hands very tightly and inviting us to a black coffee that she drank when she was a student. Precisely Montero, who currently holds the second vice presidency of the National Assembly, began her political career as a student leader from where she was appointed vice minister for the Productive and Working Youth. With Montero we talked, among other topics, about parliamentary work, the Special Commission for the Judicial Revolution and the unveiling of that network of the so-called "Narcopolitics" partially dismantled between November 2021 and January 2022 with the arrest of 30 people, including two deputies of the National Assembly and the mayor of the Jesús María Semprún municipality. Do you think there was a plan by those Colombian cartels (that captured deputies) to penetrate Venezuelan politics

 — The investigations that the Executive does to many of us as deputies surprised us a bit to learn that some parliamentarians were involved in this drug trafficking network and it was something, especially for young people, very painful to know that a young female deputy was within this network.  It is very painful, but it also calls us to the reflection of us young people, because in one way or another it is the youth that in the future will be at the forefront of all political processes and we have the obligation to do it well?.

—Reflection and review?

—We have to review ourselves collectively, individually, especially as a person, because when you enter a drug trafficking network, you violate the principles and values that have been instilled in you in your home, because if something has been instilled in us in our houses are values of honesty, of solidarity…, that's how the Venezuelan is.—Are there other politicians involved in that drug trafficking network?

"There is still an investigation process. President Nicolás Maduro spoke of the iron hand and said 'whoever falls' and this was ratified by the president of the National Assembly Jorge Rodríguez: deputy or deputy who is involved in an unlawful and unfortunate act such as that issue of the drug trafficking network he has to go to jail, he has to pay, because he is doing harm to the country, to all the Venezuelan people.
