The Malinskys had already taken the first step in 2002 with the acquisition of Fincas in Agrelo, Mendoza; and then in 2009 they opted for their beloved Cafayate and gave birth to the Piatelli Vineyards winery, with its own vineyards everywhere and above all with the deep commitment to reinforce the meaning of the label of origin: Cafayate.

Jon and Arlene are much more than two successful businessmen who invest in Argentina, they are two North Americans who fell in love with this country, with its vineyards and definitively with the land of Cafayate. They dreamed of a magical place that crowned everything they had wanted to say through the wines; and now they were able to transform it into a pure experience with the construction stone by stone, house by house, of Piatelli Wine Resort. A complex conceived from luxury, comfort and relaxation, which promises to unite the best of two worlds: first class hotels and 360 views of vineyards in the heart of Cafayate.

Cafayate, beautiful land

One of the greatest attractions of Cafayate beyond the wineries and the varieties -with Torrontés, Malbec and Tannat as protagonists- is its very differentiating characteristic: height. This implies many things; Proximity to the sun allows greater sunlight for the vine, and with good canopy management, better maturity is achieved.

Also the skins are thicker and therefore with a greater amount of polyphenols. Constant breezes are another factor that enables healthier grapes. And the average temperatures of day and night are more marked, allowing a greater amplitude. But above all, the heterogeneity of the soils, including their slopes, is what gives a distinctive character and an expression of its own to high-altitude wines.

The wine resort project was born from the initiative of Jon and Arlene with the aim of extending the experience of their current winery -almost a boutique, so select and beautiful- in Cafayate. Conceived at the beginning of 2019, before the outbreak of the pandemic, the objective was to develop an authentic space and architecture, respecting the particularities and ecosystems of the area.

Few know that the wines of Cafayate, and surroundings, have conquered palates for more than two hundred years, with their high character and personality. But what used to be rustic and powerful, today is balanced and fresh, without losing that natural characteristic strength that the valley has. However, those original sensations, added to the landscape, was what attracted many foreigners.
The oasis. Each sector of the resort in Salta was precisely designed - by Jon and Arlene Malinsky, its owners and founders. The place, seen in photos, could well be a film set in some paradise of a distant destination. The camaraderie and attention of the staff - all locals - efficiently crown the idea of rest and relaxation.

The Piatelli Vineyards Cafayate winery was born in early 2013 and was an attentive witness to the construction of the wine resort. It is an imposing construction of 5,500 m2., equipped with the highest technology.
