Love Pulse Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 https://www.msn.com/ar-ae/autos/other/كوارتارارو-في-صدارة-التجارب-الحرّة-الثانية-في-مانداليكا/ar-AAVdKWR With the moto2 and moto3 sessions taking place before FP2, the track was much cleaner and the lap times were immediate as a result. Pramac's rider Johann Zarco set the benchmark early with a 1:33.310, which was a tenth of a second faster than Paul Espargaro's time in the first session. Meanwhile, the defending champion Quartararo's bike stopped at Turn 5. This exacerbated his problems until that stage, after he was satisfied with the 16th place in the first session. After losing about 10 minutes, the Frenchman got back on his second Yamaha, used worn soft tires and started setting up some fast laps. Quartararo as a result jumped to fourth, before making his way to the lead in 1:32.570. With the weather forecast for rain on Saturday, the final minutes of the session saw a series of fast laps as everyone tried to secure a direct place in Q2. So the lead changed repeatedly, but Quartararo came out first in 1:31.608 to knock team-mate Franco Morbidelli off the lead by 0.030sec. Johann Zarco completed the top three on a Ducati bike for the 2022 season, while fourth place went to Jorge Martin, pole position in Qatar. Ina Bastianini, the winner of the Qatar race, jumped to fifth place before falling in the last moments, while Jack Miller finished sixth. Seventh place went to Alex Espargaro on an Aprilia bike, the Spaniard ahead of KTM's Brad Bender and Miguel Oliveira, while Alex Rins completed the top ten for Suzuki. Meanwhile, Marc Marquez was only 22nd in the double after suffering an accident at Turn 11 on his fast lap.
