Indeed, the Super Cub C125 is a rare bird that Honda has updated just enough to remain authentic and original, for those who want to get around town in a personal and stylish way. Of course, dispensing with certain comforts.

Another original detail is that it lacks a clutch lever, despite the fact that it has a four-speed gearbox and two clutches, a feature that sets it apart from the rest of the bikes in this category.

It also has a chain drive, a tubular chassis, a front fork and a pair of shock absorbers on the rear axle. It has 17-inch wheels, with an ABS-assisted front disc brake and a very effective rear drum. And the height to the ground of the saddle is sufficient for any size.

 

All these elements allow more than acceptable stability, safety and comfort in daily use. But here the technical comparison with other similar vehicles ends, since the Super Cub C125 is much more original. Thus, it has a 4-speed gearbox that is activated by a double cam housed on the left side, next to the footrest, when the normal thing in this type of vehicle would be a variator.

When we step on the lever downwards, of the toe-heel type, we are simply engaging. If we press a little more, we will engage the first gear. For the rest of the marches we must use the heel. It may seem complicated, but it only requires it and that happens after a little driving. Any error in this operation is immediately corrected by the second clutch.

 

The pronounced retro style means that we must do without a central platform. There is also no space under the seat to store a helmet. Honda has left nothing to chance in modernizing this classic vehicle. It has LED-type lights and an instrument panel installed on the handlebar fairing that combines analog (speedometer) with digital information. In addition, it also has the keyless system that is activated by simply carrying the key in your pocket.

As a whole, the modern Super Cub C125 offers a very neat, yet classic image, which is what it is all about. Suitable for B and A1 license holders, its price is 3,800 euros, a very special market niche for those who know how to appreciate it.
