President Alberto Fernández participated in Chile in the act of inauguration of the new president of that country, Gabriel Boric, and considered the coming to power of the leftist leader as an "expectation for all of Latin America."

After the greeting with all the leaders and during their face-to-face meeting, Fernández gave a gift to Boric, who is 36 years old. Through social networks, the President told what the gift was. “In our bilateral meeting, I gave Artaud, from Pescado Rabioso, a 1975 vinyl that is part of my personal collection. And I wrote him a letter with phrases from Spinetta, which say a lot about his present and illuminate us in these times. There is a present and a future in Latin America,” Fernández wrote on Instagram.

 

 

The presidential delegation from Argentina was the protagonist in Santiago de Chile. She arrived around 9:15 in the morning and was received at the airport by Ambassador Rafael Bielsa. Fernández then traveled to Valparaíso to attend the inauguration of the Chilean leader in the company of Cafiero, deputy Victoria Tolosa Paz, minister Aníbal Fernández and presidential spokeswoman Gabriela Cerruti.

At 11:30, the Argentine head of state arrived at the Congress in the port city and immediately installed himself in the Hall of Honor of the venue. There he shared in a very friendly way with King Felipe VI of Spain and the former president of Brazil Dilma Rousseff. He also spoke with the president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, and the president of Peru, Pedro Castillo, with whom he held bilateral meetings.

 

Showing good humor, and once the ceremony began, Fernández also greeted the outgoing Sebastián Piñera when he left the front and merged into a warm hug with Boric, who after the change of command became the youngest president of the Chilean history.

 

 

“With Gabriel I feel that we have a very great affinity, a similar look at the present and the challenges of the future, for which I think everything will be very easy,” Fernández said after the investiture ceremony in Valparaíso, in the middle of a trip contemplated for months and that the government considered key to strengthening the link between Fernández and the referent of the Chilean left.

“That there is a 36-year-old president is a great challenge for him and a great merit for Chile that has trusted that youth. I know Boric, I know how he thinks and I have the best expectations. For Latin America it is also a great boost, because Boric is a Chilean who thinks about Latin America," said Fernández, who received an invitation from Boric himself to be the main speaker at the lunch of heads of state that took place in the palace.
