Sharjah Taxi, a subsidiary of Sharjah Asset Management Company, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, opened last week the taxi control center in Sharjah, which will be a new addition to the company's smart and innovative services.

 

In addition to the multiple benefits it provides to customers, drivers and society as a whole, the Taxi Control Center reflects the accelerated digital transformation in Sharjah, and supports its efforts to enhance the services provided to the public.

 

The control center is equipped with the latest technologies to monitor and operate taxi transportation services, and employs eight employees in each shift, and operates nearly 750 taxis in Sharjah City, Sharjah International Airport, as well as the Eastern Province.

 

The center also monitors drivers' erroneous practices, directs them to proper behavior, and ensures their compliance and compliance with regulations.

 

The control center contributes to raising operational efficiency by following up on the availability of vehicles in vital locations and event venues, as well as at Sharjah Airport, and directing drivers to locations with high demand.

 

Through strict monitoring of drivers' behavior and customer service inquiries, the center helps reduce accidents, quality complaints and traffic violations.

It also contributes to reducing expenses, especially fuel consumption costs.

 

With a fleet of around 750 vehicles of various types, Sharjah Taxi was able to transport approximately 5.87 million passengers last year, with an average of 16,000 passengers per day, through well-equipped vehicles with Indoor Vehicle Devices (IVD) to communicate with the reservation.

 

And the distribution center that acts as a link between the customer and the vehicle, where orders are received and sent via IVD machines to the nearest vehicle nearby to reach the passenger within a few minutes.

 

The opening of the center was attended by Waleed Al Sayegh, CEO of Sharjah Asset Management Company, Abdulaziz Al Jarwan, Director of Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority for Transport Affairs, Sheikh Saud bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, CEO of Osoul Transport Solutions, and Khalid Al Kindi, CEO of Sharjah Taxi.
