• Other Information: Peter Gene Hernandez (October 8, 1985), better known by his stage name Bruno Mars, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer and multi-instrumentalist, born and raised in Hawaii.
• Coming from a family with a great musical tradition, Mars started singing and performing as an amateur artist during his childhood. After graduating from high school, he decided to move to Los Angeles, California, with the aim of investing more and more in his music career. In Los Angeles, he formed the production team The Smeezingtons, alongside Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine, working for Motown Records.
• After his failure with Motown Records, Mars signed to Atlantic Records in 2009. During his first few months as an artist on the label, he co-wrote the arrangements and made guest appearances on songs like "Nothin' on You" (2010) by the rapper BoB, and "Billionaire" (2010), by American singer Travie McCoy. He also participated in the writing of the worldwide hits "Right Round" (2009) by rapper Flo Rida featuring Kesha, "Wavin' Flag" (2010) by Somali singer K'naan, and "[CENSORED] You!" (2010), by Cee Lo Green. In October 2010, he released his debut studio album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The album peaked at number three on the US Billboard 200 chart, and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) after selling over one million copies in the country. His first single as a lead artist, "Just The Way You Are" (2010), held the number one position on the American "Billboard Hot" singles chart 100 for four consecutive weeks."Grenade" (2010), held the same position. for eight non-consecutive weeks. The success of the two singles in the United States makes Mars one of only six male artists in history to have reached the top of the Billboard charts with the first two singles from the same album, and the first to do so in thirteen years.
