  • Other Information: Peter Gene Hernandez (October 8, 1985), better known by his stage name Bruno Mars, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer and multi-instrumentalist, born and raised in Hawaii.
  • Coming from a family with a great musical tradition, Mars started singing and performing as an amateur artist during his childhood. After graduating from high school, he decided to move to Los Angeles, California, with the aim of investing more and more in his music career. In Los Angeles, he formed the production team The Smeezingtons, alongside Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine, working for Motown Records.
  • After his failure with Motown Records, Mars signed to Atlantic Records in 2009. During his first few months as an artist on the label, he co-wrote the arrangements and made guest appearances on songs like "Nothin' on You" (2010) by the rapper BoB, and "Billionaire" (2010), by American singer Travie McCoy. He also participated in the writing of the worldwide hits "Right Round" (2009) by rapper Flo Rida featuring Kesha, "Wavin' Flag" (2010) by Somali singer K'naan, and "[CENSORED] You!" (2010), by Cee Lo Green. In October 2010, he released his debut studio album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The album peaked at number three on the US Billboard 200 chart, and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) after selling over one million copies in the country. His first single as a lead artist, "Just The Way You Are" (2010), held the number one position on the American "Billboard Hot" singles chart 100 for four consecutive weeks."Grenade" (2010), held the same position. for eight non-consecutive weeks. The success of the two singles in the United States makes Mars one of only six male artists in history to have reached the top of the Billboard charts with the first two singles from the same album, and the first to do so in thirteen years. Inspired by legendary artists such as Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley, the singer is considered one of the "most versatile and complete pop music artists of our time", according to a critic of the prestigious newspaper The New York Times.
  • Their second studio album titled Unorthodox Jukebox was released on December 11, 2012, of which the lead single, the song "Locked Out of Heaven", was released on October 1. On December 13, 2012, "Locked Out of Heaven" took #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Digital Songs, thanks to its 46% growth in digital sales over the previous week. "Locked Out of Heaven" made Mars the male artist with the most number-one singles in the shortest amount of time on the chart since 1964, when Bobby Vinton set the same record. The album's second single, the song "When I Was Your Man" also reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for the 56th Grammy Awards for Best Pop Solo Performance. The third single from the album was the song "Treasure" which reached the top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 and the fourth and final single was "Gorilla".
