Revo Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 Rabat - Morocco’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc has scheduled special flights to repatriate Moroccans stranded in Ukraine. The company said that its special flights are in line with Moroccan authorities' measures, seeking to assist Moroccans in Ukraine. Royal Air Maroc's flights will be operational, starting March 2. Due to the closure of the Ukrainian air space, Royal Air Maroc flights will charge Moroccan students a special fee set at MAD 750 ($75). Royal Air Maroc will launch the special flights with three trips on Wednesday from Romania’s Bucharest, Hungary’s Budapest, and Poland’s capital Warsaw to Casablanca. Royal Air Maroc's special flights are available exclusively for Moroccan nationals in Ukraine and their families transitioning through Romania, Hungary, and Poland crossing points. Tickets are available on the company’s website: www.royalmaroc.com. Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has previously announced that it is coordinating with the country’s embassies in Poland, Hungary, and Romania to help Moroccans to leave Ukraine through land crossing points without the need for vaccine proof or visas, according to an official press release. The ministry also set up a special crisis cell to monitor the situation in Ukraine and deliberate over possible measures to ensure a safe return of Moroccans stranded in Ukraine. The ministry has also set up a list of free-toll numbers to provide instructions for Moroccans seeking to leave the country. Morocco’s embassy in Kiev has instructed Moroccan nationals to evacuate the country ahead of the escalation between Russia and Ukraine. In addition, the government has actively worked to provide special flights through talks with Royal Air Maroc and Air Arabia. 1
