[Sport] Paraguay will take the game against Ecuador to Ciudad del Este

The Paraguayan Football Association constituted the change of venue for March, on the penultimate day of the South American qualifying round for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

The Paraguayan soccer team changes venue for the game against Ecuador on March 24, for matchday 17 of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifier. As announced by the local association, the duel will be played at the Antonio Aranda stadium, in Ciudad del Este .

Eliminated from any option to reach the World Cup, Paraguay opts for a change of venue to measure Ecuador, which with a draw ensures its direct ticket to Qatar.

 

"The Directorate of Communications of the Paraguayan Football Association (APF) informs that the match between Paraguay and Ecuador for the South American Qualifiers will be played at the Antonio Aranda stadium in Ciudad del Este next Thursday, March 24," says a statement from the APF broadcast by local media.

Known as the Bastión del Este, the sports venue is owned by the 3 de Febrero club and will be the third in which Paraguay plays during this tie, after playing its games in Asunción, at the Defensores del Chaco stadium and at the La New Pot, from Cerro Porteño.

The stage has a capacity for 28,000 fans and has previously hosted matches for the 2009 Copa América and the South American Under-16s (2004) and Under-20s (2007).

The game between the Albirroja and the Tricolor will be played on March 24 at 6:30 p.m. (Ecuador), in a unified schedule with the games on date 17 of the tie, according to FIFA's provisions.

 

"The ticket prices for the game against Ecuador are not yet defined," says the statement from the rector of Paraguayan football.
