#CeLTiXxX Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 (edited) Crossroads of declarations between Russia and the United States over Ukraine in the UN Security Council Vasili Nebenzia, Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, told the UN Security Council that "there is no planned invasion of Ukraine, no one has said it, quite the opposite." Nebenzia denies that 100,000 Russian soldiers have been deployed to the Ukrainian border, "we never confirmed that we have 100,000 soldiers, where did that figure come from?" and that "everything is a hoax" by the West to "brainwash Ukrainians and impregnate them with Russophobia." For its part, the United States, through the mouth of Linda Thomas-Greenfield, questioned Nebenzia's words: "The actions speak for themselves: threatening to act if their requests are not met is not responsible." "If Russia is candid about how to address our respective security concerns through dialogue, the United States and our allies will continue to engage in good faith. If, instead, it chooses to walk away from diplomacy and attack Ukraine, it must shoulder its responsibility and confront to swift and severe consequences," warned Linda Thomas-Greenfield.
