Many times movies and series make certain cars mythical. The American film Smokey and the Bandit is one of them, with a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SE as the protagonist. When one of these models comes up for auction, it not only catches the attention of car lovers, but collectors as well. Now imagine that not only is the star car of a film put up for sale, but that its owner is the protagonist.

Here's the thing with this 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SE owned by Bandit himself, Burt Reynolds. Although it is not the vehicle that appeared on camera (where several units were used, many destroyed), this car was used as a promotional vehicle and was finally transferred to the Reynolds family.

Burt Reynolds passed away in 2018, but in 2014 he sold it to the person who is auctioning the vehicle today. The car is based in Florida, USA, and is even autographed by Raynolds on the glove box lid.

According to Barrett-Jackson, the company in charge of the auction, the car is in excellent condition, since Reynolds only put a few kilometers on it and because it received a complete restoration in 2015. In fact, the car retains the marks caused by Reynolds' boots and keeps the “Bandit” labels on each door.
