Digital tools have achieved a whole series of changes that have disrupted various activities and sectors, including the economy. The new practices and technological uses propose new economic practices that adjust to the needs of an environment that increasingly facilitates communication, such as the collaborative economy. Driven by digital technology, the economy or collaborative consumption was born. It is a new economic model based on communication and trust between the consumer and the supplier to make purchases electronically. It is a practice that benefits both parties, in addition to having a beneficial and responsible impact on the environment. According to the Hungarian economist, Georgina Görog, this practice has changed the patterns of consumption and entrepreneurship in industries such as: sightseeing transport education Work market In this way, within this spectrum, different platforms and applications have revolutionized the way in which various markets behave, forcing them to create new strategies to adapt to current needs. From the well-known “nenis” in Mexico, to more solid platforms at a global level, they have a place in this type of collaborative economic nature. Therefore, from the sale on social networks, to the consumption and exercise of services through applications such as: Uber, Airbnb, Rappi, Monific, among others, they could prefer part of this model. What advantages does the collaborative economy offer? Despite the fact that there are disadvantages, mainly when it is considered as a subsistence system, the benefits it offers are quite attractive: Increase in options to acquire or consume a product or service More affordable prices New and innovative experiences Sustainability and care for the environment Promotes entrepreneurship Tools to generate extra income Aspects to consider The economy and collaborative consumption are not always about the exchange of goods or material things, knowledge practices and finances can also be found.
