(Sport) Apistos was superior and achieved his 10th victory

Apistos, a 7-year-old chestnut horse, son of Deliberately en Ligia Elena, born and raised in the Oropal stud farm, once again showed his great quality to achieve victory in the Hylander Classic, yesterday at the La Rinconada Racecourse, after 71 days without racing.

In his previous one, he came from winning the Burlesque Classic at the end of 2021, beating Steinbrenner by half a length, precisely by 1,800 meters, the same distance where he ran yesterday.

And we must remember that in 2021 he also won the Clásico Presidente de la República in a great demonstration.

The race

Mayoral and Steinbreinner went in search of the first positions from the beginning and they got into a strong fight with Mayoral ahead and Steinbrenner in the second barely half a length.

Apistos came third in front of Bravucón and Shakman. They passed the first 400 meters in 24”2; in 49 ”1 the 800, with Mayoral looking good in the vanguard position and Steinbrenner trying to break his resistance.

They covered the 1,200 in 1'13"2 always with Mayoral ahead and thus they turned the last corner and entered the final stretch. It was then that Apistos pressed and despite Mayoral trying to resist, passing the mile in 1'39”1, Apistos' advance was conclusive and he went on to win to finish with a margin of two lengths ahead of his great rival in a time of 1'53 ”2 for 1,800 meters.

Bravucón finished in the third, the fourth went to Steinbrenner, who exhausted himself chasing Mayoral. Shakman completed the marker.

great campaign

With seven years in tow, Apistos has achieved 10 victories in 16 presentations, several of them selective.
He completes his campaign with two seconds; two third, one fourth and one fifth place.

There is something very meritorious in this horse, and it is that in 16 performances he has never been off the board, which says a lot about his quality.

He was ridden by Robert Capriles at 57 kilos and introduced by trainer Fernando Parilli.
