Oppo Watch has been officially announced. Comes with Apple Watch design and top smartwatch hardware

In terms of special capabilities we have electrocardiogram (ECG), the ability to monitor heart rate, sleep monitoring and exercise monitoring. The watch can also be used for swimming, but depending on the model you will be able to go deeper or lower. The 42 mm model withstands 3 atmospheres, while the 46 mm model withstands 5 atmospheres.

 

It is also interesting how Oppo thought about how the watch works. It has a Snapdragon Wear 2500 processor, the standard on the Android watch market, and a co-processor called Apollo 3, which can take over some less demanding activities. Oppo Watch can switch to a more modest processor when the power of the powerful one is not required, leading to low battery consumption. The company promises 40 hours of use between charges, with a "low power" mode that can run for 21 days. Monitoring features are probably disabled in this way, as are many smart features.

Fortunately, charging is fast. The company promises "VOOC" charging that can power 50% of the battery capacity in just 17 minutes, a performance similar to that of Find X2 phones. Oppo Watch also has eSIM functionality, which can be used for calls and messages independently of a smartphone.

 

 

Finally, in terms of software, we are dealing with a clock version of the Color OS operating system, based on Android. It seems that this is not a Wear OS from Google, but even a version of Android. It is unclear whether or not it has an app store, but it will probably use apps from the Google Play Store in Europe, while in China it will use a local solution.

Pre-orders begin in China today, with the clock set to be delivered in the region on March 24. The price for the 42 mm model is 1,499 yuan, or 190 euros, while the price for the 46 mm model is 1,999 yuan, or 255 euros. Prices in Europe are likely to be slightly higher when the clock is officially announced for the region.
