Euphoria is an American teen drama television series based on the Israeli series of the same name created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin. The series stars Zendaya in the title role, along with an ensemble cast including Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, and Colman Domingo. It premiered on HBO on June 16, 2019. On July 11, 2019, it was renewed for a second season, preceded by two one-hour specials broadcast in December 2020 and January 2021. The second season premiered on January 9, 2022.2

Euphoria received positive reviews from critics, who praised its cinematography, story, score, performances, specifically those of Zendaya and Hunter Schafer, and approach to its mature theme, although it did become controversial for its use of nudity and sexuality, which some critics perceived as excessive. The series received nominations for the British Academy Television Awards for Best International Program and the TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Drama. For her performance, Zendaya won the Primetime Emmy Award and the Satellite Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series, making her the youngest actress to win this category.
