The British team published on social networks the first ignition of the Mercedes engine that the MCL36 will carry.

The Formula 1 teams continue to prepare for a much-awaited 2022 season. The new year of the World Cup, which will come with an important regulation change under its arm that promises to substantially shuffle the cards on the grid after what was seen in the first eight seasons of the hybrid era, will kick off in Bahrain on the weekend of March 18-20. But, first, the teams will set foot on the track for the first time in the pre-season tests, being the second in the Bahrain circuit itself, from the 10th to the 12th of the same month, and the first in Barcelona, without television or live times, between on February 23 and 25.

McLaren looks forward to the future

Thus, given the proximity of these first tests, where the new single-seater concepts will be put on the track for the first time for their teams to check whether they have hit the shot or not, the teams themselves are uncovering their cards little by little, before of car presentations. The few movements that are arriving from the factories are the first starts of the cars, and today it was McLaren's turn. If Mercedes had been the first of all to turn on its W12, before the end of 2021, and this year Alpine had already shown the initial sound of its A-522, today those from Woking have finally launched their new MCL36 and the German power unit that they will introduce into it.
