Honda announced that it has recalled nearly 725,000 cars from its car in the United States, and attributed the reason to the fact that the covers open while driving, which may increase the chance of an accident on the roads, especially highways.

The vehicles affected are undoubtedly the 2019 Passport midsize crossovers, the 2016-2019 Pilot midsize crossovers, and the 2017-2020 Ridgeline midsize pickups.

The announcement of the defect was made according to a defect data report submitted to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) last month.

Honda stated that "the gaps within the sealant between the bonnet and the grille allow air to enter, which is likely to cause the hood to vibrate when driving at speed on the highway, increasing the incidence of accidents and injury in the event of an accident on the road."

According to the report from the US Traffic and Safety Authority: "Over time, hood vibration can cause stress fractures along the hood latch attacker and separate the striker from the hood latch."

Possible warnings of a bad hood latch bolt are rattling sounds in the hood or a loose cap.

Honda said that if the hood latch broke away from the bonnet, the bonnet could open while driving and obstruct the view of the powertrain.

Honda stated that as of November 19 it has had 116 warranty claims and there have been no collisions or accidents, and Hotda has not disclosed the supplier of the item.

Depending on the condition of the hood latch fender, sellers will either restore the hood by reinforcing the hood latch or completely change the hood, as dealers have been notified of the recall from November 30, car owners can be notified as of January 17.

Honda said dealers will either repair the ejector or replace the hood if necessary at no cost to owners, Honda will notify owners by letter beginning Jan. 17.

The method of repairing the malfunction was also announced, and the company said, depending on the condition of the cover being locked, dealers will either repair the cover by tightening the cover lock or replace the cover completely without any cost to car owners, as the cover problem will be fixed for free by dealers and agents who will announce About them Honda later.
