Face ID is the biometric system of the iPhone since 2017, in which it came to end the hegemony of Touch ID and its fingerprints. Despite its modest success due to the pandemic (when we wear a mask), this component present in the iPhone and some iPad seems that it will continue with us for many more years, so why not use it to perform all the important tasks of our device?

And when we refer to that of important, we do it to talk about the operations that really involve a risk and that have to do with money and the use of bank cards. Apple, within its ecosystem, stores our data to charge us the amounts we pay for monthly subscriptions, specific purchases of apps, video games, movies, etc. and, of course, to maintain the integrity of the device when we lock the screen.

Pay with your face
What we are going to do with the tutorial that we bring you today is something as simple as telling the iPhone (or iPad) to use Face ID as a way to verify payments with the card stored in our Apple account. Thus we save the tedium of having to type the password over and over again. Verifying with the biometric sensor, we just have to look at the terminal and that's it. Everything will be OK in seconds.

So to activate Face ID as a way to complete purchases in the App Store and the old iTunes, we just have to go to the "Settings" of the iPhone (or iPad) and look for the "Face Id and code" section. Then it will ask us to enter the PIN code of the phone to, finally, enter the menu that really matters to us and that appears with a series of functions activated (or not).

Of all those alternatives that we can turn on or off, we are left with the "iTunes Store and App Store". If you are at this point, it is because the device asks you for a password with each purchase, so it should appear deactivated. You press on the switch until it acquires the same appearance as in the screenshot that you have above and that's it. Face ID will already be activated as a confirmation method for all purchases you make. From this moment, when buying new content in Apple's digital stores, we will only have to double-click on the side button and stare at the screen until the biometric sensor gives its OK.
