E̶l̶s̶y̶d̶e̶o̶n̶ッ Posted November 11, 2021 Posted November 11, 2021 Chevrolet continues to reconfigure its offer of pickup trucks, now incorporates a new access model, it is the already highly anticipated Chevrolet Groove 2022. The Groove is positioned below the Tracker, making it Chevrolet's most affordable SUV, although as we will see below, it overlaps quite a bit with its big sister. Like the Aveo, Cavalier and Captiva, with which it has many aesthetic similarities, especially the front end, the Groove is of Chinese origin. Under the hood we find an old acquaintance, it is the 1.5-liter 4-cylinder displacement that incorporates the Aveo, and delivers 110 hp and 108 lb-ft of torque, the transmission in the case of the unit we drove was CVT, although there is also a manual gearbox option. Logically, the traction is front-wheel drive, while the suspension geometry is McPherson strut front and torsion bar rear. length – 4,220 mm width – 1,740 mm height– 1,615 mm wheelbase – 2,550 mm trunk– 320L For context, this new Groove is 50 mm shorter than Tracker, but has just 20 mm less wheelbase, so you can be sure that the space in the back is just as good, since the difference is in the trunk capacity, the Groove is 73 liters less. Inside the doors we find an interesting combination of colors and one or another texture that catches the eye. Mainly the central part of the dashboard that is padded, has red stitching and has a pattern that resembles a musical wave. The leatherette-trimmed seats also feature red stitching, as well as a combination of smooth and perforated leather with red inserts. As for the quality of materials and assembly, we find hard plastics to the touch, but they are not shiny, so there are no reflections on the windshield. However, some of the trim could be better achieved, being the passenger's airbag cover the one that stands out the most. In terms of equipment, the Groove is well covered, 8" touchscreen with an easy to use interface, someone commented on the day of the photo and video shoot that he found it similar to that of Xiaomi phones. It has Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility, although our test unit could not link to the latter and the option did not appear in the menu, perhaps some final update was missing.
