Man's desire to fly has passed from generation to generation. So much so that once achieved, we have endeavored to apply flight to all types of vehicles. Whether they be cars or motorcycles. However, until now nothing cash has been built that you could buy yourself.

However, this last statement has changed since the company A.L.I. Technologies, a Japanese start-up specializing in drones based in Tokyo, has developed its first hovercraft. It is the Xturismo Limited Edition, a motorcycle that you can buy from now for $ 680,000 (about 590,000 euros).

Xturismo Limited Edition: practical use as rescue equipment

The A.L.I. Technologies has been developing since 2017 and aims to become the next generation of mobility, allowing it to operate freely in a three-dimensional space. According to Reuters, a medium that has been able to attend the presentation of the vehicle in Japan, the start up has received funds from Mitsubishi Electric and Kyocera.

Its suppliers also include Kawasaki Heavy Industries, which shows that the project has quite a future. In fact, in his presentation he made a short flight demonstration a few meters from the ground on a racing circuit to check its function, being the most effective and without flight problems.

The design of the Xturismo Limited Edition Basic is shown as a hybridization between a normal motorcycle cut in half that is attached underneath an XXL-dimensional drone. The device rests on "skids" like those of a helicopter when not in flight, and to propel it has a conventional internal combustion engine and four electric motors.

Thanks to them they can stay in flight for up to 40 minutes with a maximum speed of 100 km / h. Its dimensions are not suitable for all garages since it measures 3.7 meters long, 2.4 meters wide and 1.5 meters high. Its weight is not far behind either, rising to 300 kg. That if, its load capacity of only 100 kg seems somewhat short for use.

Its use in Japan is limited, for the moment, to controllable areas such as circuits, although according to what Daisuke Katano, executive president of the start up to Reuteurs, has told them, "in the short term its use will be limited to such sites and it will not be "Allow flying over crowded roads in Japan. However, the rescue teams could use the hovercraft to reach places that are difficult to access. "A use, for the moment, of the most practical that this technology could continue to develop in Japan.

Although its use is limited to the circuit for the moment, you can get one of them since the company has opened the order period. Its exchange price is 590,000 euros and the first deliveries are scheduled for mid-2022.
