Like the many other beleaguered bullocks Animal Rahat’s team encounters every day, Raju struggled to haul an overloaded ice cart through noisy, dangerous traffic. Raju’s owner would load up this cart with massive blocks of ice and goad the bullock with a heavy stick along chaotic, crowded city roads. Wonderful news! This worn-down bullock will never feel the weight of a heavy cart again, never feel exhaustion, and never suffer from aching muscles. PETA India removed that painful tether and delivered this noble old man to one of Animal Rahat’s sanctuaries. Raju was welcomed with a beautiful edible garland of marigold flowers and given his fill of sweet treats. Animal Rahat will keep you updated on his progress as he makes friends at the sanctuary!
