The Ministry of Culture and Youth hosts a group of thought leaders, creators and innovators from around the world at the World Conference on Creative Economy.

The conference will be held under the slogan "Integrated Creativity: Makes the Future" during the period from 7-9 December at the Dubai Exhibition Center - Expo 2020; This is part of a series of conferences and events organized by the Ministry at Expo 2020 Dubai.

 

A more creative and sustainable future
The conference, which is held in person and virtual, is a platform for innovation and creativity that aims to exchange knowledge, ideas and challenges facing the creative economy, especially in light of the circumstances imposed by the repercussions of the "Covid-19" crisis, as well as discussing new trends and solutions that ensure a more creative and sustainable future.

The conference aims to enhance prospects for cooperation and support efforts aimed at formulating future policies for the creative economy to ensure the realization of the concept of sustainable development and highlights a number of important topics such as technological transformation and the future of inclusive sustainability and diversity, in the presence of a number of influential local, regional and global figures such as Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi and Sheikh Sultan Saud Al Qasimi, Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Sheikha Al Zain Al Sabah, Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, John Hawkins, Khaled Al Shafar, calligraphy artist L Cid, Marisa Henderson and Alexis Wichowski.

 

Strengthening the UAE's position with competitiveness indicators
Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, UAE Minister of Culture and Youth, said that the World Creative Economy Conference 2021 is an indication of a new start that aims to enhance the country's position on the global competitiveness index and reflects the vision of the wise leadership to build a promising stage commensurate with its preparations for the fiftieth year that includes maximum utilization of all energies and resources.

She added that this conference was designed to contribute to strengthening the country's position as a global center for supporting and empowering youth, culture, creativity and optimal investment in competencies and talents, as we build a more diversified and inclusive economy in which cultural and creative industries contribute to the overall economy, enhance local output, and prepare future generations to work in a sustainable world.

She said, "The UAE welcomes innovators and creators from all over the world. We have developed a clear strategy to organize a series of initiatives aimed at shaping the future of the creative economy in line with efforts to diversify the economy and sources of income, and prioritize the cultural and creative sectors."

 

The conference - which is the latest event of the International Year of the Creative Economy for Sustainable Development announced by the United Nations in 2021 - attracts thousands of interested participants, entrepreneurs, start-ups, global innovation centers and educational institutions, during which participants have the opportunity to showcase their creative work in platforms or main entrances and other spaces. They have access to the conference platforms to present their ideas and products in front of a selection of experts in this field.
