Al Dahra Holding Company, headquartered in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and one of the largest international companies specialized in the agricultural field, announced the opening of 5 new plants for pressing and drying forage in Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria.
The opening comes as part of the company’s continuation to achieve its plans for global expansion, by increasing the agricultural area and spreading its geographical presence around the world, in order to diversify the sources of production and supply, with the aim of reducing logistical risks and facing climate change.

The co-founder and managing director of Al-Dhahirah Holding Company, Khadim Al-Derai, said that the company "is one of the largest producers and exporters of fodder in Eastern Europe and the Balkans."

The five factories consist of 12 production lines, with a capacity of up to 500,000 tons annually of alfalfa, and more than 15 types of fodder and concentrated grains, with investments exceeding 500 million dirhams, to become the largest company in Eastern Europe and the Balkan countries in the field of production and export of alfalfa and green fodder to the scientist".

He pointed out that the company had recently added the cultivation of 11 thousand hectares of alfalfa within its farms located on the island of Braila in Romania, which amount to 56 thousand hectares.

This comes in addition to the establishment of a river port to ship containers to the Port of Costanca, directly from its farms, and the establishment of new warehouses with a production capacity of 60 thousand tons of fodder.

Al-Derai added: “The first plant for pressing and drying forage was opened in the Republic of Serbia, with a production capacity of 120,000 tons to export alfalfa, silage, straw and compressed feed, with a storage capacity of 20,000, as part of the Al Dahra project, which covers an area of 23,000 hectares.
