Lebanese artist Wael Kfoury was exposed to a traffic accident on a highway in the vicinity of the coastal city of Byblos, north of Beirut, after which he was transferred to a hospital in the region for treatment, according to press information.

Pictures spread on social media showed the car of the 47-year-old Lebanese artist, which was largely smashed, and its tires flew out, which press information attributed to the vehicle colliding with a cement barrier on the highway linking the coastal city of Byblos to the capital, Beirut, about 40 kilometers away.

While Our Lady of Relief Hospital in Jbeil, where Kfoury was transferred at night, refused to provide any information about his health condition, local news websites reported that the Lebanese singer had fractures in his body, but his condition is stable and he is receiving the necessary care.

The news of the accident, as soon as it spread, topped the list of the most discussed topics on electronic platforms in Lebanon and other Arab countries, and comments poured in from users, including a number of famous Arab art, who wished Wael Kfoury safety.

In their comments, some users criticized the lack of lighting on the highway where the accident occurred, reflecting the deteriorating situation of the infrastructure in Lebanon, which is mired in unprecedented economic and social crises affecting various aspects of life in the country.

The Lebanese singer, born in 1974 in Zahle, the capital of the Bekaa Governorate in eastern Lebanon, whose real name is Michel Kfoury, is considered one of the most prominent Arab singing stars in the last two decades.

His singing career, which began after graduating from the famous "Studio El Fan" program to discover talents in 1993, is filled with many hit songs in which Kfoury distinguished himself, especially in the romantic Lebanese lyrical color.
