فيروس كورونا المسبب لداء كوفيد-19 | الأمم المتحدة

Yesterday, Monday, an American newspaper suggested that the new Corona virus “Covid 19” may be transmitted from bats to wild animals on Chinese farms, and then to humans in Hubei Province, located in the central east of China, according to the Iraqi “Alsumaria” news channel.

The American newspaper, "Washington Post", said that the World Health Organization and the Chinese government say that the possible origin of Corona is natural transmission through wildlife, but the Chinese government refuses to allow scientists access to some areas to research about the origin of the virus.

Hundreds of caves and wildlife areas dot the Enshi region of Hubei
The "Washington Post" added that hundreds of caves and wildlife areas are spread in the Enshi region of Hubei, where there is what is known as the "Flying Dragon" Cave, which is considered one of the largest caves in the region, with its passages extending to 37 miles, and containing many bats.

The American newspaper pointed out that this region is characterized by the presence of farms that contained hundreds of thousands of wild mammals, which makes scientists believe that these animals may be an intermediate host for viruses transmitted from bats to humans.

And the "Washington Post" continued, saying that she visited this area, which is about 6 hours from Wuhan in central China, where Corona was first discovered there, and documented her trip with pictures, where she found that some farms in the area are only one mile away from the entrances to these caves.

The Xishuangbana Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said western Hubei province is home to at least seven species of horseshoe bat.

Enshi includes about 290 farms that contained 450-780,000 wild animals, while biologist at the University of Arizona, Michael Warby, said: “We really need to learn more about the viruses that spread in those bats in the Enshi caves.”

Worby added, that this kind of proximity to animals and bats that can carry corona viruses is exactly the nature of the thing we are concerned about, while Mark Elwett, from the Pasteur Institute in Paris, said that more research should be done in China, specifically in areas Caves.

And the “Washington Post” newspaper quoted a foreign scientist who worked for years with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, on condition of anonymity, that the institute’s field research in bat caves had been suspended since the start of “Corona.”
