[Auto] Kia Corporation: This will be the new philosophy of the firm in our country with a new 100% electric model

It was at the beginning of this year, when the brand sought to give a new identity to its firm and wanted to focus on Kia's trust and commitment to customers. Six months later it does so in Chile and anticipates a new launch for 2022

This new commitment is focused on becoming an icon of change and innovation, as Ho Sung Song, President and CEO of Kia, pointed out in the face of the rapid and constant changes that the automotive industry has faced in recent years.

The new image of the brand is marked by 5 pillars that begin with its logo, which is the "symbol of the new purpose of the firm" and its "commitment to lead changes and innovation in its processes" to establish itself as main participants in the mobility industry

It is followed by the new slogan, “Movement that inspires,” which speaks to Kia's vision for the future creating sustainable mobility solutions for consumers, community and society. Product design is also another of the fundamental pillars focused on "United Opposites" that uses concepts of disruption and contrast to generate models with a unique character.

 

 

The business model is another point that is improved in this regard with the “Plan S” strategy with a transition to 100% electric vehicles, strengthening of its PBV range and expansion towards mobility services.

Kia leaves its surname of "Motors Corporation" to focus on "Kia Corporation" as a company that is not only dedicated to the manufacture of automobiles, but also in offering - as we said before - in 360 ° mobility services.

The EV6 could be a clear bet for 2022

This model was presented at the beginning of this year, becoming the first 100% electric car of the new generation. It is a crossover with dimensions greater than those found in Sportage.

Responding with this model to the changing expectations of customers, offering a more sustainable range of products and a wider range of vehicles for the entire world market.

The new EV6 will be available with 2WD and 4WD versions in traditional and GTLine versions, with single or extended range batteries, offering engines that offer from 168 hp (125kW) and a torque of 350 Nm for the entry version, followed by another engine AWD that will deliver 231 Nm (173kW) and 605 Nm, with autonomies that reach 400 km, thanks to its 58 kWh batteries.

Added to these are the versions with 77.5 kWh batteries with autonomies of more than 500 km, delivering 168 kW (225 hp) and 350 Nm of torque with the 2WD version, the AWD offers 320 hp and 605 Nm, while the GT AWD version will offer 576 hp and 740 Nm of torque, associated with this extended range battery.

We could see this model from the second half of 2022, where conversations with the brand have already begun to introduce it in the national market. But the new EV6 would not come alone, because as confirmed by the brand, in the short term the arrival of electric versions of Rio, Sportage and Sorento is expected.
