Barcelona striker Martin Braithwaite expressed his happiness after scoring two goals in the team's first match of the new season of the Spanish League, which ended with the Blaugrana's victory over Real Sociedad by four goals to two.

"I'm feeling great right now," Braithwaite said after the match. "You scored two goals and won the match and defended a lot as well."

"In addition to all that, the fans were on the field. This was very important because the fans expect a lot from us and we have done a good job and we continue to improve."

Braithwaite scored the second goal in the 45+2 minute after a cross from Frenkie de Jong, and scored the third in the 59th minute.

Not only that, but the Danish striker made the Catalan team's fourth goal in the 91st minute, with a decisive pass to Sergi Roberto, who put it in front of the empty goal.

"I'm happy with the two goals and the assist too, you can imagine that it's my evolution in my work, it's what I've been working for all week," Braithwaite added.

"It was a good summer and I got my confidence back and I feel very good at the moment, and I will continue to improve throughout the season."

Braithwaite joined Barcelona in February 2020 as an emergency deal after Luis Suarez was injured, and also reached the semi-finals of Euro 2020 with Denmark before leaving at the hands of England.
