The list included 21 players, and midfielder Hamdi Fathi returned, after taking leave to hold his wedding during the past few days. Al-Ahly is preparing to face Aswan at seven in the evening, Thursday, as the "red genie" seeks to continue putting pressure on Zamalek, the leader in the standings. Al-Ahly is second in the Egyptian Premier League standings with 55 points, which it has won in 16 games, seven draws and two defeats, and is six points behind Zamalek, the leader in the standings. Abdel Hafeez holds a session with the players before training On the other hand, Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly's director of football, held a long session with the team's players before the start of the collective training, which was held on Wednesday afternoon in preparation for the Aswan match. Abdel Hafeez confirmed in statements to the Al-Ahly club's media center that he was keen to meet with the players in the presence of the technical staff, to emphasize the importance of the next stage of the Egyptian Premier League competitions, and the strong matches that await the "red genie" in the journey to defend his title. The football director added that he stressed to all players the need to focus and fight from the first minute to the last minute in all the team’s upcoming matches, starting from tomorrow’s match against Aswan, given that all matches are of paramount importance in Al-Ahly’s journey to defend the Egyptian League title. In his meeting with the players, Abdel Hafeez indicated his confidence in their capabilities and ability to resolve matters, and strive hard to win every match that Al-Ahly plays in the league during the coming period.
