Guanyu Zhou scored a well-deserved victory in the main race of the Silverstone F2 Grand Prix, taking the lead over first-placed Oscar Piastre.

Uni-Virtusi's Zhou, who started second and started the weekend leading the drivers' standings, crossed the line by nearly 4 seconds over Carlin's Dan Ticktum, who finished second at home and in front of his fans.

Meanwhile, Piastre completed the podium positions for his Prima team and in front of MB Motorsport's Richard Vershor and his teammate Robert Schwartzman.

Sixth place went to Zhou's teammate, Felipe Drogovic, ahead of Hitech's Joris Vibes.

Back in the race, Zhou made a better start, taking the lead from Piastre, while Tectum overtook Verscher for third place.

By lap 6, Zhou extended his lead to 1.5 seconds, comfortably leading the race after 10 minutes.

Ticktum was the first to stop on the same lap, changing tires early to the softer formula in front of Schwartzman, Liam Lawson, Marcus Armstrong and David Beckman.

The eighth lap witnessed a struggle between Biestri and Tictum at the Brooklands corner, after Carlin's driver exited the front after stopping.

By the time they reached lap 13, Ticktum and Piastre were vying for seventh and eighth places as they advanced over the cars in front of them that had not stopped yet.

Jihan Darovala was in the lead 6 laps before the end because he did not stop, and Zhou was directly behind him with new tires, to lead at the end of the Chinese with the Indian stopping on lap 24 and Zhou continued towards a deserved victory.

Piastre faced pressure from Verscher for third with two laps to go, but the Prima driver held onto his position to climb to the third podium behind Zhou and Tectum.

Theo Porsche finished eighth in front of all Lirim Zendeli and Darovala
